S. Korea drops to 56th place in FIFA rankings

South Korea fell two notches to 56th place in the FIFA rankings released on Thursday, becoming the third-highest ranked Asian country on the list after Iran and Japan.

Iran, the only Asian team in the top 50, also moved down one notch to 42nd place.

Japan, on the other hand, climbed two notches to 53rd place, three spots ahead of South Korea.

Rankings of the Top 9 - Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Brazil, Portugal, France and Uruguay - remained unchanged.

Italy moved up two notches to join the ranks of the top 10.
