Olympic short track speed skating champion Victor Ahn chosen as Reuters' 'Comeback of the Year'

South Korean-born, Olympic short track speed skating champion Victor Ahn has been selected as "Comeback of the Year" by Reuters, an international news agency headquartered in London.

The selection was based on a vote by sports writers for Reuters, the news agency said on Friday.

Ahn, who became a naturalized Russian in 2011, won the gold medal in the men's 500-meter and 1,000-meter events, and the men's 5,000-meter relay during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He also won the bronze in the men’s 1,500-meter event.

Ahn was born in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, in 1985 with his Korean name Ahn Hyun-soo.
