Lotte Chilsung Beverage said Friday that it will launch a new Cheoum Cheorum brand of soju having 17.5 percent alcohol content, lower than previous Cheoum Cheorum with 18 percent alcohol content, to meet changing consumer tastes.
The new Cheoum Cheorum, a distilled rice-based liquor, will go on sale in mid-December, said Lotte Chilsung, Lotte Group’s liquor-maker.
Last week, Hite Jinro announced that it will release a new Chamisul soju brand with a reduced alcohol content of 17.8 percent from 18.5 percent contained in the previous Chamisul.
