Apple Inc. unveiled the iPad Air 2 at the tech giant company's campus in Cupertino, California, Thursday (local time).
The new iPad tablet is thinner and has a faster processor than previous models, Apple's chief executive Tim Cook said, introducing the device during an event at the Apple campus in Cupertino.
The iPad Air 2, which is 6.1mm thick, is the world's thinnest tablet, Apple said.
Pre-order sales of the tablet are to start Friday, it said.
