Argentina's midfielder Angel di Maria would be ruled out of the semi-final football match between Argentina and the Netherlands of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil because of an injury on his right thigh, the team doctor said on Sunday (local time).

Doctor Daniel Martinez said although the injury is minor, di Maria could not play in the semi-final match, which will kick off 5 a.m. on Thursday, according to AP news agency.

Di Maris was substituted after sustaining a thigh injury during the first half of the quarter-final match between Argentina and Belgium at the Mane Garrincha National Stadium in Brasilia on July 5.

Di Maria scored the 1-0 winning goal during extra time in the round of 16 game against the Switzerland at the Corinthians arena in Sao Paulo on July 1.

Meanwhile, Argentina’s forward Sergio Aguero, who sat on the bench with teammates during the round of 16 match against Switzerland, is ready to play in the semi-final against the Netherlands, the team doctor said.
