Korean baseball player Shin-soo Choo (31) set a record in MLB history as an FA Asian player to get paid over $100 million. Choo has agreed to join hands with Texas Rangers with 7-year term and $130 million. Previously New York Yankees offered Choo with a 7-year term and $140 million, but he turned the offer down, and Jacoby Ellsbury joined Yankees with $153 million. However, since Texas down not have state income tax, taking Rangers' hand was a better choice for Choo.
Formerly, Japanese player Ichiro Suzuki set a record of $90 million in 2007 with Seattle Mariners but in August 2013, he signed with NY Yankees for $13 million 2-year term.
