South Korea's Kospi regained over 2000 on Jan. 14.
Kospi rose 0.52 percent to 2007.04, up 10.37 points.
Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor gained 1.24 percent and 1.46 percent, respectively. But Hyundai Mobis and LG Chem slipped 1.9 percent and 1.7 percent.
Asia stock also climbed. China’s Shanghai Composite Index rose 2.5 percent, while the Hang Seng Index gained 0.5 percent.
The exchange rate, meanwhile, rose 1.40 won to 1056.10 won per dollar.
