In November last year, the ministry of education published “Ingae Daeguk” in Korean, which means a great country with talented and competent people. The book introduces major policies such as the advancement of entrance exams, creative personality education and fostering talented students.
The English title of the book is called, “Positive Changes” and all contents are translated from the original Korean edition as well as the background, process and outcomes of the policies on education, science and technology in Korea, containing over 580 pages.
The English edition went on sale Monday at local bookstores, and is also now available at online book shopping sites including Amazon and Interpark. The royalties from the sales of the book, like the Korean edition, will be donated as scholarship programs in Korea.
The ministry of education plans to distribute the English edition of “Ingae Daeguk” to foreign embassies in Korea, Korean embassies abroad, and overseas Korean culture centers and foreign college libraries.
The government will also display the book at the 5th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation education ministers conference starting from May 21-23 in Gyeongju, Korea.
