Cheong Wa Dae (presidential house for South Korea)’s secret probe into a “Shanghai sex scandal” involving Korean diplomats at the Consulate General in Shanghai with a Chinese woman has revealed that no state secrets were leaked.

An official from Cheong Wa Dae was quoted by Chosun Ilbo daily news as saying, “The scandal was caused by lax discipline at the consulate and we found the most of the information allegedly leaked to the woman was not very valuable.”

According to the probe, which has started almost a year ago, this happening and moral hazard has started by conflict between the two consuls over their complicated relations with the Chinese woman.

The government has now decided to launch another special investigation onto the matter and will expand its check if any similar incidents happened in other 156 overseas government office, the news reported.
