According to data released by market research firm Data Bridge Market Research, the medical imaging market in the Middle East is expected to grow to $30.85 billion in 2029 from $20.1 billion in 2021. SEHA runs a total of 14 hospitals in Abu Dhabi.
SEHA signed an agreement with the South Korean medical solution developer to verify the performance of an AI chest analysis solution called "Lunit INSIGHT CXR" and "Lunit INSIGHT MMG," a solution specializing in detecting breast cancer. The Middle Eastern hospital agency will consider the adoption after carrying out technology verification by the end of 2022.
"I hope the business agreement with SEHA will be a good opportunity to supply our products to Middle Eastern medical institutions and innovate public medical services in the Middle East," Lunit CEO Suh Beom-seok said in a statement on October 24.
In July 2022, Cathay Life Insurance, a major life insurance company in Taiwan, signed a licensing agreement with Lunit to adopt Lunit INSIGHT CXR for reviewing users' health conditions when taking out insurance. The Taiwanese company that checks more than 30,000 chest X-ray images every year for new insurance contracts determined lung diseases and detected unusual lesions with an accuracy rate of more than 90 percent using Lunit's solution.
